Kilifi County is one of five counties that make up the Kenyan Coast with its capital being Kilifi. The county is located north and northeast of Mombasa with communities living in the area; Mijikenda, Swahili, Bajuni, Indians, Arabs and A number of Europeans. The county is known for its sandy beaches, mixed diverse cultures and historic sites i.e. the ruins of Gedi, which include Mosques and Tombs dating from the 11th century. Major economic activities of the county are Fishing and Tourism due to the Indian Oceans proximity.
