Machakos County is a county among 47 counties found in the Kenya, it boarders Nairobi and Kiambu counties to the West, Embu to the North, Kitui to the East, Makueni to the South, Kajiado to the south east, and Muranga and Kirinyaga to the northwest. The County has a big town called Machakos also known as ‘Masaku’, which serves as the capital of the County. The name Machakos originates from a Kamba tribal chief who settled in the area. The town is surrounded by hill terrain which are ideal for Camping, HHiking and even rock climbing.

Machakos is mostly inhabited by the Kamba people who mostly practice agricultural farming of drought resistance crops such as sorghum & Millet. Machakos also offers a variety of attractions and activities for visitors to explore such as;
