Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Ol Pejeta Conservancy is a 90,000-acre (360 km²) private, not-for-profit wildlife conservancy situated near Nanyuki in Laikipia County, Kenya. Established as a cattle ranch and transformed into a leading conservation area in 2004, Ol Pejeta combines wildlife conservation, tourism, community development, and sustainable livestock ranching.

The conservancy is internationally recognized as the largest black rhino sanctuary in East Africa and is home to the world's last two remaining northern white rhinos, Najin and Fatu. It also hosts Kenya's only chimpanzee sanctuary, providing refuge for rescued and orphaned chimpanzees. Wildlife found here includes the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino), cheetahs, Grevy's zebras, giraffes, hyenas, and numerous antelope species.

Ol Pejeta offers exceptional game viewing, guided safaris, lion tracking, night game drives, bush walks, and educational conservation experiences. The conservancy reinvests tourism revenue into wildlife protection and community projects such as education, healthcare, water access, and local livelihoods, making it one of Africa's leading models of integrated conservation.
