West Pokot County is a county in Kenya, with its capital and largest town being Kapenguria. The county was formerly known as West Pokot District and is located in the Rift Valley region, bordering Turkana County to the north and Baringo County. The county is mainly inhabited by the Pokot people who are the Majority and the Sengwer who are the minority.
West Pokot is striving to become a top-class tourism destination. Tourism, sports, culture, social development departments work together by educating the communities on conservation, identifying tourist sites, and training individuals in hospitality and entrepreneurial skills. The region offers beautiful mountain scenery and opportunities for hiking and camping.
