Little Governors camp is quietly nestled on the edge of Masai Mara National Reserve. The camp is accessed by a short boat ride across the Mara River, then an escorted walk through the riverine forest. approximately 320 km southwest of Nairobi, 45 minutes away by air from Nairobi Wilson Airport while driving takes about 6 hours by road. Musiara airstrip is 10 minutes’ drive from the camp.
There are 17 luxury en-suite tents tucked into the edge of the forest overlooking a large watering hole that teems with both birds and wildlife. The Governo’s tents are comfortable and tasteful, each spacious with an en-suite bathroom, seating area, a polished wooden deck with large verandas to enable guests to relax and enjoy the panorama of animals.
Breakfast and lunch are served in the open air and the resident families of warthogs frequently wander amongst the tables. Other facilities at the camp include; a mess tent with a bar overlooking the waterhole, a dining tent, a souvenir and a reception. The camp provides natural range of “Cinnabar Green” toiletries which help in keeping up with the sensitive environment. There are also electricity lights in the tents. 220/240-volt UK plugs in the tents for charging cameras and phones. Wi-fi is also available in the camp.
