The journey, step by step.
Arusha to Ngorongoro
After breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha, After short briefings of your safari, you will depart Arusha around 6:00 AM in a 4WD Safari Landcruiser and drive approximately 3 hours (167 km) through the lush landscapes of the Great Rift Valley to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the way, enjoy sweeping views and pass through the small market town of Mto wa Mbu.
You’ll arrive at the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater by noon. After lunch, descend 600 meters into this World Heritage Site for an afternoon crater game drive. This area offers one of the best chances to spot all Big Five in a single day—lions, elephants, buffalos, rhinos, and leopards—plus flamingos, hyenas, hippos, and more.
Overnight: Lodge near the Crater
Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner
- Afternoon Gamedrive
Ngorongoro-Serengeti National Park
Leave after breakfast and begin your drive into the legendary Serengeti National Park, a journey of about 4–5 hours (145 km) across the Ngorongoro highlands. This isn’t just a transfer—it’s a game drive in itself. You’ll pass Maasai villages and spot wildlife long before you enter Serengeti proper.
Once inside, begin your afternoon game drive en route to your central Serengeti lodge. The Serengeti’s vast grasslands stretch endlessly, hosting millions of wildebeest, zebras, and predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards.
Overnight:Lodge in the heart of Central Serengeti
Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner
Morning & Afternoon Gamedrive
Spend two full days exploring the iconic Serengeti. Early morning and evening game drives offer the best chances to spot action—perhaps a lion pride hunting or a leopard lounging in a tree. Depending on the season (July–October), you might witness the Great Migration, one of the most awe-inspiring wildlife spectacles on Earth.
Enjoy your meals in a luxury lodge, surrounded by the sounds of the savannah—roaring lions, laughing hyenas, and birdsong at dawn.
Overnight: Same lodge
Meal Plan: 3 Meals (Breakfast, Lumch & Dinner)
Full Day Gamedrive
The day starts early in the morning as the African sunrise slowly lights up the vast Serengeti plains. During these early hours, predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs are still active, giving you excellent chances to witness hunting behavior and other exciting wildlife interactions.
As you drive across the endless savannah, you will encounter thousands of wildebeests and zebras moving together during the Great Migration. The Serengeti feels incredibly vast, and the wildlife concentration during peak season is simply remarkable. Depending on the migration movement, you may witness dramatic river crossings, large predator activity, or endless herds stretching across the horizon.
Unlike shorter safaris, a full-day game drive allows you to explore remote regions of the park without rushing back to the lodge. You will enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot in the wilderness while surrounded by the sounds and beauty of nature.
Throughout the afternoon, the safari continues with more opportunities to spot elephants, giraffes, hyenas, buffaloes, and many other animals in their natural habitat. As sunset approaches, the Serengeti becomes even more magical, with golden light covering the plains and wildlife silhouettes creating unforgettable scenery before returning to camp in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
