2 Days 3 Nights Lamu Detailed Itinerary
Escape to Lamu, a UNESCO World Heritage Site brimming with Swahili culture and pristine beaches.
Day 1: Arrival & Lamu Old Town Tour
Depart Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and get to enjoy a scenic flight to Lamu island. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your charming beachfront hotel. Check in and get to relax, spending the rest of your day at leisure. Depending on time of arrival you can opt for a guided tour of Lamu Old Town, discovering its narrow streets, Swahili architecture, and cultural landmarks or Savor traditional Swahili cuisine at a rooftop restaurant. Dinner and Overnight stay at your hotel/ Villa or beach resort.
Day 2: Island Hopping & Beach Relaxation
After breakfast enjoy the hotels ambiance, dive into the pristine waters or simply walk by the beach as you soak in some warm sunlight. Afterwards, you can embark on a dhow excursion to the nearby islands of Manda or Shela where you will enjoy snorkelling, swimming, and a seafood barbecue on the beach. Spend your afternoon unwinding at Shela Beach, renowned for its tranquility. Later on, return to your hotel for dinner and a serene evening stay.
Day 3: Departure
If there is enough time depending with your flight departure, visit the Lamu Museum to dive deeper into the island’s history. Before leaving, shop for unique souvenirs to carry home with you as memories of Lamu’s charm. Check out and have a transfer to Lamu airport for your flight back home.
