Requirements when traveling from Nairobi to Tsavo National Park using SGR

1. Your personal identification card/Passport- This will be required during train check-in at Nairobi SGR terminus. This will also be needed when checking in on your return trip from Tsavo at Voi SGR station. For Non-residents, you will require a valid passport when entering the SGR.

2. Clothing- The weather at Tsavo National Park is warm, therefore you do not need to carry heavy clothes. You might need a sun hat if your face is sensitive to hot sun.

3. Train Tickets- It is advisable to have your tickets purchased in advance. When booking your Tsavo Safari with Olanka Safaris, you get your e-tickets sent to you early before the travel dates. When you get to the SGR, you easily print using the ticket booth which takes less than 5 minutes with a normal passenger queue. Upon booking, you will get two tickets, one to Tsavo and one for return from Tsavo to Nairobi.

4. Keeping time- Our Safari from Nairobi starts exactly at 8 am without delay. It is therefore important to be at the SGR station in Nairobi for Tsavo National Park at least 1 hour earlier to avoid last-minute rash which can cause inconvenience.
