Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara
Morning
7:00 AM: Pick-up from your residence/hotel in Nairobi by Olanka Safaris tour guide.
7:30 AM: Departure to Masai Mara via the Great Rift Valley.
10:00 AM: Brief stop at the Great Rift Valley viewpoint for photos and refreshments.
12:30 PM: Arrival at Masai Mara and check-in at the chosen camp/lodge. Lodges in Masai mara includes Mara Serena Safari Lodge, AA lodges, Mara Maisha and Mahali Mzuri among others. There are also tented camps such as Rhino tourist camps, Miti Mingi, and Olumara tented camp.
Afternoon
1:00 PM: Lunch at the lodge.
3:30 PM: Afternoon game drive to experience the beginning of the wildebeest migration. This is a magical movement of wildebeest from Serengeti in Tanzania to the Kenyan Masai mara that happens every year from July to September.
6:30 PM: Return to the lodge.
Evening
7:00 PM: Dinner at the lodge.
8:30 PM: Evening at leisure, enjoying traditional Maasai dance performances.
Day 2: Full Day Game Drive in Masai Mara
Morning
6:00 AM: Early morning game drive to witness the wildebeest migration at sunrise.
9:00 AM: Return to the lodge for breakfast. We offer an alternative of packed breakfast and lunch to give our clients adequate time to spend in their game drive adventure.
10:30 AM: Mid-morning game drive focusing on the Mara River crossing points.
Afternoon
1:00 PM: Picnic lunch in the park.
2:30 PM: Continue with the game drive to spot the Big Five and other wildlife.
4:30 PM: Visit a Maasai village to learn about the Maasai culture and traditions. Visiting Masai village will cost 20 USD per person.
Evening
6:00 PM: Return to the lodge.
7:00 PM: Dinner at the lodge.
8:30 PM: Relax around the campfire, sharing stories of the day's adventures. Some lodges shows documentaries of Masai Mara which are also worth watching.
Day 3: Explore Masai Mara
Morning
6:00 AM: Optional hot air balloon safari for a bird’s-eye view of the migration (comes with additional cost).
8:30 AM: Breakfast at the lodge.
10:00 AM: Morning game drive focusing on predator-prey interactions.
Afternoon
1:00 PM: Lunch at the park. Bush lunch is always the best experience I have seen guests enjoy at Masai Mara
2:00 PM: Afternoon game drive until evening.
Evening
6:30 PM: Return to the lodge.
7:00 PM: Dinner at the lodge.
8:30 PM: Presentation by a wildlife expert or documentary screening about the Great Migration.
Day 4: Masai Mara to Nairobi
Morning
6:00 AM: Breakfast at the lodge and check-out.
8:30 AM: Early morning game drive for last-minute wildlife spotting on your way out of the park.
9:30 AM: Departure from Masai Mara to Nairobi.
Afternoon
12:00 PM: Stop for lunch at Narok Town. We also make arrangements for our guests to have packed lunch from the lodges on request.
1:00 PM: Continue the journey back to Nairobi.
4:00 PM: Arrival in Nairobi and drop-off at your residence/hotel.
